About my city

Today I want to tell you about Tama city. Do you know where Tama city is in Tokyo? Tama City is a part of the Tama area, one of the bigger two areas in the prefecture along with the central Tokyo. Tama city is far from the centre of Tokyo which includes Shinjuku ku, Sibuya ku, Tyuou ku and so on. So, I have to commute by train all the way to my company which is in Centre of Tokyo.

My city’s area is about 21 km2 and it's population is some 150000, but our number is gradually decreasing, especially the number of working population.

That’s why sometimes I want to live in an urban city. Actually I have lived alone in Koutou ku which is more developed than here until this May. Since living in an urban city is much more costly than living here, I decided to move to Tama city. But I'm very happy to live here with my parents.

Filipino cuisine

I want to focus on writing about my city Tama, but sometimes I will mention about other things. Actually I am hardly in Tama from Monday to Friday because of my work. So, when I post the article which is written about other things, please forgive me. And following story is not Tama Life.

Since I became businessman, I’ve gone to restaurants I had never visited before. That means I can go to fascinating restaurants which give me prestigious service. But for my age, it is difficult to eat there alone. Fortunately l have some good friends to enjoy that with me.

Anyway, I went to a Philippine restaurant with my Japanese friends yesterday. I've wanted to eat foods of Philippines, because I got a Philippine friend through the skype recently and she told me about Philippine dishes. The restaurant’s name was Kainan which means “restaurant” in Tagalog. It is located in Roppongi which is very attractive to younger people.

Firstly, we tried Adobo and Kare-Kare which was recommended by my Philippine friend. Adobo was made of pork and chicken mixed with vinegar and soy sauce. Kare-Kare was made from peanut sauce with a variety of vegetables, stewed oxtail, beef. I was assured that theses menu would be good before eating, although I had never eaten both foods until yesterday. Actually they were very delicious. I really loved those. But I liked Adobo better than Kare-Kare because peanut sauce was a little bit sweet for me.
As a matter of fact, the sweet taste was caused by me. I made a big mistake forgetting to use the prawn paste which was spice used for giving Kare-Kare a subtle flavor.

We ordered other dishes, and we enjoyed drinking the San Miguel Beer which was famous beer in Philippine.

At last, I had Halo-Halo which is popular dessert in Philippine. It was made from ice with a variety of sweets such as ice cream, jelly, fruits, condensed milk and so on. That dessert was very sweet, but I liked it.

Do you know Halo-Halo is very popular in Japan because famous convenience store MINI STOP sells Halo-Halo. So, many Japanese think of Halo-Halo as MINI STOP’s original dessert. My friend considered that too.

Thanks to Kainan, I had a comfortable moment. Actually I had a good time eating and talking with my friends. But I think all menus were a little bit expensive for me. Maybe the place in Roppongi makes prices high. It's OK. I know sometimes it is not cheap to enjoy a comfortable moment. That's why I will go to the Kainan again in the near future, of course in the Philippine too.

My City

Today I took a walk to take a picture of Tama city. I wanted to inform my foreign friend about the city.

Tama has several nice places to see. Do you like Kitty-chan? We have Puroland which is Sanrio's amusement park like Disneyland. There are a lot of foreigners, especially Chinese. But I've never gone to Puroland, Because I prefer Disney to Sanrio.Haha.

Anyway I went to Tama Center and took a photo. When you come to japan, Please visit my city!
